Reviews, Portable LCD:

I searched the marketplace for a small 16:9 LCD monitor that is sharp and can be viewed in full sunlight even from extreme angles. I looked around and finally settled on Teletest.
The Teletest sales and technical team are a pleasure to speak to and the unit cost is incredibly reasonable.
The 4.5" model that arrived is rugged enough to stand up to everyday work (abuse) and has a multitude of user adjustments. Every Cameraman, Focus Puller and most Sound Recordists should have one of these in with their kit!

I do a lot of location shooting either single handed or just with a producer or director. I needed a monitor to be able to put in the director's hands so that they could see at a glance what we were getting and speed up the shooting process without having to haul a heavy CRT monitor around.
The Teletest monitor has been perfect for this, it's small, tough, works well in high ambient light levels and seems to run forever on the NP-F730 batteries from my PD150.

I work for a Corporate Event and Communications Company. We link the 6" LCD monitors to our large projection screens. This enables guest speakers to view what is shown on the screen behind them as they speak to their audience.
The OZD1068 screens are very effective, smart and provide a clear image.

The OZD1068 screen was used as the main camera monitor within a new 3 camera portable web-encoding solution. During the design stages our requirements were for a high quality, robust and reliable screen.
Other considerations during were the number and variety of inputs as well as the size and storage requirements. This screen excels in all these areas and has remained reliable in what can be a strenuous short-term-hire business enviroment.

As Teletest is local to me I picked up my 5.6” LCD Monitor from their offices.I found the team very friendly and helpful, also giving me an insight into their facilities.
The monitor is used for location filming on either a DSR 300 or PD150. It gives superb reproduction be it in sunlight or viewed from an acute angle.
I recently added the battery adapter to it to run on PD150 batteries.
A great Investment

We have found our monitor so useful and now use it instead of carrying around other CRT monitors. We mount it using it using a grip on a leg of the Vinten tripod where with the help of the supplied mounting bracket we can angle it to suit every occasion. The quality build and clarity make it invaluable for checking colour balance and focus.

Norton Armouries Ltd
I recently acquired the new JVC HD100 camera for it’s capabilities of shooting 720 progressive scan at 24 and 25 fps in high definition. We felt that we would benefit from using an external monitor for the camera for aiding me in focusing and composition of the shots.
Teletest was recommended to us by our camera supplier, The Digital Garage Group, and we purchased a 7.5in Broadcast LCD monitor to fit directly onto the camera. It gave a superb picture but after trying it out on the camera found that this particular monitor could only accept a PAL signal; which is fine for shooting 720 at 25fps, which we were shooting in at the time. But the JVC camera uses NTSC when shooting in 720 24fps mode, which we planned to use in the future; (we didn’t know at the time we ordered the monitor that the camera operated in NTSC and PAL.)
When I contacted Teletest to explain our problem they were very understanding and exchanged the monitor and accessories, without any quibble, for a monitor that was switchable between PAL and NTSC. Not only that, they sent me a new monitor to try out the very next day to make sure I was happy with it before I had even a chance to return the PAL only monitor; now that’s what I call service. It’s very refreshing to find a company in this day and age that puts the customer first no matter what the problem.
I will certainly be using Teletest again for my monitor needs and would recommend them to anyone.
