Technical Support: Test signal generator

99.9% of ALL reported problems are caused by a FLAT BATTERY!!!! Problems caused by finger trouble are much rarer as these test equipment products are very simple.

We can sort almost all problems out over the phone; try following the Q & A below and if you are having no luck then give us a call.

POWER

Q: Why doesn't my test equipment work / cannot provide a colour signal.
A: The battery is more than likely flat.
NOTE: A brand new Duracell battery should last for 2hours for the OZT1110 / OZT1120 / OZT1200 and 5hours for the OZT1310 / OZT1320 / OZT1500.
SUGGESTION: Do not use rechargeable batteries or NON alkaline batteries.

AUDIO

Q: (OZT1200 / OZT1320) Why is the audio test tone from the XLR-3 connector very faint and distorted?
A: At some point someone has connected it to a phantom power supply which has destroyed the circuitry. This MUST be returned to Teletest for a non-warranty repair.

RF (OZT1110 / OZT1120)

Q: Why can't I get an RF output?
A: Check the slide switch on the side is in the correct position.
A: Has the tuning preset been altered from CH36?
A: Remove any cable connected to the composite video and audio phono sockets (as if these are being used they cut the signal to the RF modulator).
A: Try to see if you have a composite video output by connecting it to a video monitor.

Q: I have a very clear picture in RF mode but why is the audio very distorted?
A: Do you have the correct version for your country? The RF signal is likely to be the wrong one for the TV set.
NOTE: The OZT1110 is "PAL I" which is for TV's used in the UK, Eire, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa etc.
The OZT1120 is "PAL G" (or "PAL B/G") standards which is for TV's used in Europe eg Germany, France etc and Australia and New Zealand.
Countries with TVs that take NTSC / SECAM signals will not work with either of these pieces of test equipment.
